Donald E. Skeeters


Background & Education:

Donald E. Skeeters was born in 1941 in Hardin County, Kentucky. He was raised in Vine Grove and attended Hardin County public schools, graduating from Vine Grove High School in 1959. Don attended the University of Kentucky where he studied biology and chemistry and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1963. In 1968, he obtained his Master of Science in Education degree.

Don first started teaching at North Hardin High School where he taught science as well as being a basketball coach. He also taught chemistry in the Bardstown school system. Don also was trained and worked as Assistant Engineer for IBM in Lexington, Kentucky after teaching high school. Don then entered law school at the University of Kentucky and obtained his Juris Doctorate degree in 1970. While in law school, Don developed a psychological/psychiatric computer scoring program with another individual. The test results were then generated so that a report, depending upon the professional background, could be reviewed by various individuals.

Law Practice:

Don returned home to Hardin County and set up a solo practice in Radcliff, Kentucky in 1970. In addition to the general practice of law, Don has served as city attorney for the Cities of Radcliff and Vine Grove, City Prosecutor for those two cities, and general counsel for such entities as Hardin County Bank & Trust, Fort Knox Federal Credit Union, Hardin County Board of Education, and Hardin County Water District No. 1. Don was the founder of the law firm now known as Skeeters, Bennett, Wilson, & Pike.

Civic Involvement:

Over the years Don has been involved in many civic organizations. He is a past member of the Knights of Columbus, Lion's Club, North Hardin Football Boosters, and North Hardin Band Boosters. Don has chaired fundraising events for the North Hardin Band Boosters and was the chairman of the fundraising campaign for building a football stadium at North Hardin High School. Don and his wife attend St. Brigid Catholic Church in Vine Grove, Kentucky where he has served as a member of the Parish Council, both as chairman and secretary.

Personal:

Don is married to Dianna Skeeters from Meade County, Kentucky and they have three grown children Sherri, Dan, and Kevin. Don and Dianna also have ten grandchildren. Don is a devoted family man and loves to spend time with his children and grandchildren.

Hobbies:

Don is an avid snow skier and also enjoys bicycling and jogging.

Areas of Practice:

Don is semi-retired and limits his practice to retained clients.

R. Terry Bennett


Background and Education:

Terry was born in 1945 and raised in Radcliff. He attended the Hardin County public schools. Terry graduated from William and Mary in Virginia with an Undergraduate Degree in government and received his Juris Doctorate from Wake Forest Law School in Winston Salem, North Carolina in 1970. While at William and Mary Terry was inducted into the Eta Sigma Phi National Honor Society. He was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, the Student Body Association, Dormitory Council, and the gymnastic team. Terry graduated with honors from Wake Forest Law School. He was Vice-President of Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity, on the Board of Directors of the Student Barr Association, and Associate Editor of the Wake Forest Law Review. As an ROTC student, Terry received the American Legion Excellence Award, was inducted into the Scabbard and Blade Honorary Society, and was a distinguished military graduate. He also was a recipient of an ROTC scholarship.

Military Service:

In 1970, Terry entered the United States Army as a Captain in a Judge Advocated General Corps. While stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky, he was a defense counsel in the criminal defense section. While stationed in Korea, Terry was the Chief of Criminal Law for the United States Army/United States Forces, Korea/United Nations Command/Eighth Army Command. Terry was then transferred to the United States Army Claim Service in Fort Meade, Maryland, where he served as a Claims Officer until 1974 when he was honorably discharged.

Law Practice:

In 1974, Terry joined the law practice of Don Skeeters forming the partnership of Skeeters & Bennett. Terry's legal activities include past President of the Hardin County Bar Association, past member of the House Delegates, Kentucky Bar Association, Trial Commissioner for the Kentucy Bar Association, and a member of the Kentucky Bar Association Inquiry Commission. Mr. Bennett is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, United States Court of Appeals 6 th Circuit, United States District Court Western District of Kentucky, United States Court of Military Appeals, and all Kentucky courts.

Civic Activities:

Mr. Bennett has been very active in civic activities. He has been Business Moderator, Deacon, Sunday School teacher, and choir member of his church. He has served on the Kentucky Public Health Task Force for Alcoholism and Alcohol. He has coached Peanut League Baseball, Little League Baseball, Little League Softball, and Little League Basketball. He is past President of the Radcliff Jaycees, past President of the Radcliff Chamber of Commerce, Charter member and former Secretary of the Radcliff Rotary Club. Terry presently donates his time and energy by serving on charitable boards such as the Association of the United States Army, CORE Committee, North Central Education Foundation, Hardin County Community Foundation, USA Cares, and North Hardin Hope. He is Chairman of the Board of First Citizens Bank and the Heartland Community Foundation.

Teaching:

Terry loves to teach and has been an instructor at the Elizabethtown Community College lecturing in Paralegalism, an instructor at the University of Maryland on Business Law and Real Estate Law, a guest speaker at the Wake Forest School of Law, and a seminar instructor at a number of continuing legal education seminars for the legal profession in such areas as municipal law, probate law, elder law and estate planning.

Honors:

Terry has received such honors by being recognized as an Outstanding Young Man of America, Who's Who in American Law, and Who's Who in America. He is a University of Kentucky fellow, a Kentucky Bar Foundation fellow, a member of the Board of Visitors of Wake Forest's University School of Law, Pro Humanitate Society, and Wake Forest's Presidents Club. He has received the Radcliff/North Hardin Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award, the Hardin County Board of Realtors Professional Service Award, and the Radcliff/North Hardin Chamber of Commerce Gold Award. He has also been inducted as a member of the Kentucky Jaycees Hall of Leadership.

Personal:

Terry is married to Kay Bennett and they have two grown children, Brian and Tiffany. Terry and Kay are also the grandparents of three grandchildren.

Hobbies:

Terry enjoys golf and traveling. Terry and Kay have traveled to many parts of the world. They have been to Africa twice to such countries as Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and South Africa.

Terry's practice includes personal injury law, real estate law, probate law, estate planning, business law, corporations, and adoptions.

David T. Wilson II


Background & Education:

David T. Wilson II is a native of Meade County. He attended Meade County High School, graduating in 1982. Afterwards, David continued his education at Hanover College in southern Indiana and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Kentucky. David remained in Lexington and attended the University of Kentucky College of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate in 1989. While in law school, David served as Editor of a law review journal and was published in the Journal of Mineral Law and Policy.

David has practiced with Skeeters, Bennett, Wilson, & Pike in Hardin County and the surrounding communities since 1989. He has litigated various cases before the Kentucky Supreme Court, the Kentucky Court of Appeals, the Federal Court for the Western District of Kentucky and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. David has a fairly substantial litigation practice primarily involving personal injury litigation, domestic relations and creditors rights litigation. This includes litigation in Bankruptcy Court as well as foreclosure actions. David also practices school law and is local counsel for the Hardin County Board of Education and the Meade County Board of Education. He also acts as counsel for Hardin County Water District No. 1, Meade County Water District, Fort Knox Federal Credit Union and Kentucky Land Company.

Civic Involvement:

David is a member of the Meade County Chamber of Commerce, and is a former member of the Board of Trustees for the Kentucky United Methodist Homes for Children and Youth. He is also actively involved in youth athletics having coached over a dozen teams in the last several years.

Organizations:

David is a member of the American Bar Association, Kentucky Bar Association, Hardin County Bar, Meade County Bar, and the Kentucky Association of School Board Attorneys.

Personal:

David is married to the former Elizabeth VanAntwerp, originally from Ashland, Kentucky. They have been married since 1987. They have three children: Caroline, Thomas and John. The family attends Brandenburg United Methodist Church where David serves as Chairman of the Finance Committee, and as an Adult Sunday School teacher.

Michael A. Pike


Background and Education:

The oldest of five children, Michael Pike was raised in Louisville, Kentucky. However, his parents were natives of neighboring Meade County, Kentucky. After lettering in varsity basketball four years in high school in Louisville, Mike continued his education at the University of Louisville. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History, cum laude, in 1991. Upon graduation from Louisville he worked for a family business for almost six years. In addition to working the family business, Mike began his legal studies at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. He received his Juris doctorate in 1998.

Law Practice:

While attending law school, Mike served as an intern with the General Electric Appliances Legal Operations Department. In addition, Mike was a member and editor of the law review, the Journal of Family Law, and wrote a student note in the review. He was also a member of the school's Negotiations Team. Upon passing the Bar exam, Mike began his practice as an assistant Meade County Attorney, as well as a sole practitioner. He later joined Skeeters, Bennett, Wilson, & Pike in 1999, and became a partner in the firm in 2001.

Civic Activities:

Mike currently is the attorney for the Cities of Radcliff and Vine Grove, advising the Cities, their elected official, employees, and various city boards. He is a graduate of the Radcliff-Vine Grove Community Leadership Program. He has spent a great deal of time in the community as coach for both youth basketball and baseball. Mike also has assisted the youth of our community by serving on the boards of the Vine Grove Baseball-Softball Association and was an initial board member for the Vine Grove Recreational Basketball League. Mike also has served on the Challenger Learning Center of Radcliff Advisory Board.

Organizations:

Mike is a member of the American Bar Association, the Kentucky Bar Association, Hardin County Bar, Meade County Bar, and Association of Trial Lawyers of America.

Personal:

Mike and his wife Julie have three children.

Hobbies:

In his spare time, Mike loves to read, study theology, and play music. He also enjoys spending as much time as he can with his family.

Areas of Practice:

Mike focuses his practice on personal injury and social security, municipal law, corporations and LLC, business formation, and estates and probate law. Additionally, Mike oversees the real estate law department for the law firm.

Dustin C. Humphrey


Background and Education:

Dustin C. Humphrey is a native of Meade County. He graduated from Meade County High School in 2002 and went on to study at Bellarmine University where he double majored in History and Political Science, graduating summa cum laude in 2006. He received his law degree from the Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University in 2009, graduating cum laude.

Law Practice:

During law school Dustin was hired by one of the oldest law firms in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he served as a summer associate and law clerk for a year. After law school, he joined the firm as a full time attorney after passing the Ohio bar examination. Dustin worked in Cincinnati as a full time attorney for a year during which time he also took and passed the Kentucky bar examination.

Dustin’s desire to be near his close-knit extended family brought him back to the Hardin County area in 2010 when he joined Skeeters, Bennett, Wilson and Pike as an associate attorney.

Civic Activities:

Dustin is involved in several community organizations including the Radcliff Rotary Club, the Hardin County Chamber of Commerce and the Meade County Chamber of Commerce. He is also currently enrolled as a class member in the inaugural class of Leadership Hardin County. Dustin also makes time to be involved in his church, St. Mary Magdalene of Pazzi, where he serves as a lector and small group leader.

Personal:

Dustin is married to the former Cindy Beavin of Meade County and they are currently expecting their first child. In his spare time Dustin enjoys reading, playing sports, hunting, fishing and spending time with family.

Dustin’s law practice includes personal injury law, medical malpractice law, business law including corporations, LLCs and business planning, real estate law, probate law, estate planning, employment law, and family law.
